The Path, the Light, the Faith of the Walk

Psalms 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

When walking a path in the dark with a lamp, only a few feet in front of you is lit.  There is a path all the way down, but nevertheless, that lamp only shows you a little bit in front of you.

To see what’s beyond that little bit, you have to walk forward with the light you have.

That is obedience. That is faith.

With each new step, new things are illuminated.  They were always there. Some people can see further down the path than others, but always, most of it is not visible without stepping forward in faith with the little lighted path you have.

  1. Yes Brandon, that is very true. Each day I pick up my Bible, scriptures I have read so many times before seem to have a deeper meaning.

The Word of God is so beautiful, “With each new step, new things are illuminated. They were always there. Some people can see further down the path than others, but always, most of it is not visible without stepping forward in faith with the little lighted path you have.”

  2. I can relate to the application you shared by looking at why I am even in the search for truth. If it brings me closer to the Truth, then I know the further light is showing the correct path.

  3. This is my “favorite” verse of scripture. I think because it is one of the first I’ve ever memorized. And this is exactly what it means to me. I picture myself in a dark forest (the world) holding on to a lantern, and every step I take (in my faith) I move closer and closer to the edge of the wood to the light (Heaven). Praise God!

  4. Romans 16:24 “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: 27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever.” Amen. (KJV)

I no longer have any doubts concerning my Faith and how to be in Christ. Its all about foundation: understanding/accepting Apostle Paul is the Body of Christ “chosen vessel” Acts 9:15, KJV; we are in the dispensation of Grace Romans through Philemon light our path in Christ.

  5. When you read the Bible from cover to cover repeatedly, it becomes more than a lamp. It becomes a “high beam” where you can see beyond a few feet in front of you. Reading God’s word diligently opens up your understanding where you will understand the scriptures perfectly. See Luke 24:45…The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm119:130…For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: Proverbs 6:23
