I have found through research that self forgiveness is not Biblical, and the more I looked into it, it was revealed to me that the reason we struggle with it is due to the fact that we are attempting to do something we do not have the power to do! God is the one who forgives us! So the problem isn't the forgiving ourselves it is believing that we are forgiven and accepting that forgiveness.

Yes Brandon I agree. I have not read this Rob Bell's book but have read many reviews and can get an idea about what it is about. It is nothing new just another "gospel" given by a "minister of righteousness" as an "angel of light". What concerns me is how many folks blindly believe this type of demonic theology based on nothing more than shifting sand. I admit it appeals to "itching ears" those who desperately want to believe that God is not really HOLY and that He could never be so just as to send souls to an everlasting place of damnation and torment. They love to "maketh a lie and to believeth a lie" as Jesus said "they have their reward".

How blessed the Word of God is to my heart, the Saviour of my soul Christ Jesus has paid my sin debt and redeemed me for ever. The word of God brings wisdom, refreshment, and strength. Someday soon I will see my Saviour and be safe at home in Heaven. Thank you for the post, God Bless.

God clean us from all our sins and we should fix our eyes on Jesus...
but still I want to make him happy by my works...
and that makes me more sad and guilty many times...
thanks for sharing

This is not scripture, but it is beautiful. "Turn your eyes upon Jesus"

Words & Music: , 1922.

This hymn was first published in Glad Songs, by the British National Sunday School Union. Its lyrics were inspired by the Gospel tract Focused, by Lilias Trotter, which included these words:

    So then, turn your eyes upon Him, look full into His face and you will find that the things of earth will acquire a strange new dimness.

O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s a light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free!

Refrain

Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.

Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
Over us sin no more hath dominion—
For more than conquerors we are!

Refrain

His Word shall not fail you—He promised;
Believe Him, and all will be well:
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!

Refrain

This is beautiful. And these are some of my favorite verses. Do you know where one can find copies of pages from the Bible like these, suitable for framing?

"I sometimes wonder: are other pages of the book from which mine is taken on someone else’s wall?"
I have an old King James Bible page on my wall, Judges chapters 20,21. I received it when I bought the Hexepla. It is at least 350 years old.
*******
Yet another annointed article, Brandon.
God bless you!

Agreed! Imagination isn't the problem. The Word says that God is able to do above and beyond all the we could hope or imagine. As Christians, if our hearts and minds are set on God's Word, then our imagination can act as a mighty tool for the kingdom of God.
